Skellig Six18 is the only working distillery on the Ring of Kerry. Just outside Cahersiveen town, on the Skellig Coast and close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Skellig Michael. The brand name was inspired by the six hundred & 18 steps that 6th century monks carved out of Skellig Mór to reach their monastery on the summit. The Distillery building is a former dry-dock for boats taking visitors to Skellig Michael. Now being transformed, our multi-year project will result in an independent, world-class Whiskey and Premium Irish Spirits Distillery and Visitors Experience.

MORE INFORMATION

Skellig Six18 will be showcasing the history of Irish whiskey and learn about the process, particularly the unique Irish whiskey style of Irish Single Pot Still whiskey.  See, smell and touch the ingredients used to make Irish whiskey – Grain & Water. Enjoy the stories and legends of this ancient land shaped by the Atlantic and the mountains. And learn a bit about the science of distilling in our Apothecary corner. Learn about maturation and the importance of wood and environment in developing the taste of Irish whiskey.

Enjoy an intimate tasting session with a local spirits aficionado. Skellig Six18 have 2 tasting opportunities – a tasting of Skellig Six18 Gin or a premium whiskey tasting experience, where you can sample mature Irish whiskey which have been blended and recasked on site especially to give our visitor a completely unique whiskey tasting, only available at the distillery.
