Tullamore D.E.W. proudly launched their new ‘Ultimate Distillery Experience” on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March 2022. This new experience gives visitors the chance to see, smell, taste and touch every aspect of how the famed whiskey is produced – and in a world-first for the distillery, they’ll be able to blend and bottle their own whiskey.

The Tullamore D.E.W. story tells the tale of a legendary liquid with 192 years of history. The grain to glass distillery spans a whopping 58 acres where the  whiskey is milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, matured and bottled all on one site. Here, 11 million litres of whiskey are produced each year, making Tullamore D.E.W. and its distillery one of the finest examples of Ireland’s whiskey renaissance.

TOUR INFORMATION

During the distillery experience, visitors will sip and savour an Irish coffee on arrival, walk the still house floor, feel the warm embrace of heat from the bubbling stills and taste the world’s second largest Irish whiskey brand’s award-winning whiskeys.

One of the most breathtaking parts of the tour will take place in the live Maturation Warehouse. Nestled amongst a sea of barrels stacked from floor to ceiling, is Ireland’s only custom-built Warehouse Snug. In the Secret Snug, visitors will get to “dip the dog” and taste whiskey direct from the cask whilst 50,000 barrels – over 10 million litres of whiskey – mature around them. The aroma in the air is pure magic.

At the end of the tour, visitors will get the chance to “Be the Blender” by blending and bottling their own unique whiskey to buy and take away. This state-of-the-art invention does not exist anywhere else in the world and brings personalised whiskey to a whole new level.
